Worker’s Compensation Courts Are Reopening

After more than a year of being shuttered due to Covid-19, Wisconsin’s worker’s compensation courts are re-opening for business.  In Wausau, worker’s compensation hearings are scheduled to resume in July 2021.  This is good news for injured workers who have been waiting for months to have their day in court.  Unfortunately, the extended closure of Wisconsin’s worker’s compensation courts has created a backlog of cases, and it is likely to take many more months for the system to process those claims.  In the meantime, there are several alternative avenues to pursue to move your worker’s compensation claim toward resolution, including direct settlement negotiations, telephonic settlement conferences, and mediations.  If your worker’s compensation claim has been languishing, give us a call.  We may be able to help.
